Play Therapy and EMDR with Daniela Herrera, LPC-A

Daniela Herrera is a bilingual counselor (English and Spanish) and a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A). Originally from Bogota, Colombia, she relocated to Houston, Texas, in 2016. While moving to a new country marked a significant life transition for Daniela, she embraced Houston as her home, where one of her passions is immersing herself in the diverse community around her.

Since 2018, Daniela has been dedicated to community mental health, which motivated her to pursue a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Sam Houston State University. Through her work in community health, she has recognized the vital role of providing individuals in the community with a safe haven to express and process their life experiences without judgment.

Over the past four years, Daniela has focused on providing bilingual counseling to children, gaining enthusiasm for various interventions that support them in navigating their own life challenges. She has completed a Play Therapy certification at Sam Houston University and has also taken Sandtray Therapy classes. Additionally, Daniela is trained in EMDR, with ongoing efforts to achieve certification as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT). In her free time, Daniela enjoys walking her dog and traveling.
